Golfer Kim Joo-hyung, also known as Tom Kim, was nominated for the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award on Monday, along with Americans Cameron Young and Sahith Theegala.

Kim earned a spot in the FedEx Cup Playoffs to secure his full PGA Tour status after winning the Wyndham Championship in August, becoming the youngest Korean golfer to win on the PGA Tour.

The 20-year-old competed at 11 PGA tournaments, finishing 35th in the FedEx cup standings.

The winner of the award, dubbed the Arnold Palmer Award, is determined by votes from PGA Tour members who played in at least 15 official events during the season.

So far, Im Sung-jae is the only Korean to have won the award.

Along with Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, the first three-time winner of the FedEx Cup, Scottie Scheffler of the U.S. and Cameron Smith of Australia are up for Player of the Year, dubbed the Jack Nicklaus Award.
