P160K worth of shabu seized in unclaimed parcel

LAGAWE, Ifugao: Police operatives discovered four sachets containing suspected shabu inside an unclaimed parcel from a terminal of a passenger bus here recently. The unclaimed suspicious package came from Sampaloc, Manila through regular bus shipping on October 31, and arrived in the locality in the early morning of November 1, at the Ohayami bus terminal at Barangay Poblacion East. Investigation disclosed that the Lagawe Municipal Police Station received a request from the management of the bus company informing the authorities of an unclaimed suspicious package on November 1. Joint police operatives from the Lagawe Municipal Police Station, Provincial Explosives and Ordnance Division and Canine Unit as well as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted sweeping operation in the bus terminal that resulted in the recovery of four transparent sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 13.5 grams with a standard drug price of around P162,000. Police authorities proceeded with the marking and inventory of the confiscated contraband while investigation is still being done to identify the recipient of the contraband.
